Green and Orange for relaxed living

Its Friday yehhhh- so time for the scheme of the week, or the fortnight in my case but Hi hello, how has your week been? Mine has been a little lack lustre. I am still trying to get used to my new normal of solo parenting, whilst my husband is deployed with the Royal Navy, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little bit overwhelmed about the solo responsibility of keeping my two girls alive and happy. I could probably quite manage just one of these things but achieving both is a struggle at times and it does mean that I have had to let some balls drop- mostly self imposed work deadlines and my social life but hey- I'm slowly succumbing to the reasoning that I'm going through a season at the moment that is about motherhood and trying my very best to embrace everything that life throws at me. After all that's all we can really do isn't it? Go with the flow of life and make the best out of the situations that we find ourselves in.

This week I was thinking about how our home living spaces have the ability to make us feel relaxed, safe and inspired or anxious and stressed. For me, when my house is a mess it makes me feel really on edge. Please don't think that this means my house is tidy because it certainly isn't right now- I constantly walk around picking things up but honestly I would never sit down so I'm living with toys strewn across the dining table and clean clothes which still need to make it in to the wardrobes at the moment.

Creating dream like spaces is a enjoyable form of escapism. I really do love finding beautiful wallpapers and quality furniture which I can picture in a future redecoration or new home and I certainly love giving you some inspiration too. This week I looked at the colour combo forest green and orange for relaxed living. These two colours are super contrasting but compliment each other beautifully and are so earthy. You will notice the addition of blue, which isn't necessary but I think ties the colours together. I have always been very traditional and am drawn to traditional shapes but I think the juxtaposition of tradition and more contemporary ideas is a contrast that gets my heart going. I can't get enough.

In this week's scheme I have incorporated some fun patterns and relaxed lighting but am still staying true to my traditional roots.

I would love to know what you think. Keep reading to find all the links. Don't forget to connect with me over on Instagram
